I started writing this album a year after we moved out of the city. As any artist knows, new environments are endlessly inspiring. This album was entirely written on a nylon string guitar, and it's kinda the first time where that's been the case for me. That is to say, I like to think that it is more "songy song", or vocal based than my other music. I was also lucky enough to find Joe Maltese, right in town, to play drums for these songs, and even luckier that we could use his friends basement as a tracking space.

These songs remind me of jogging and exploring new surroundings, walking my 6 week old blue heeler, sitting in our backyard looking at the stars, hiking the mountains around my house, being slightly isolated and solitary, planning a wedding, and dealing with depression/anxiety about the future.

Making records is my favorite thing in the world to do, and these projects will always make their way into my head and come out in some form. I make these things as my own coping mechanism, and it is as natural and necessary to me as eating, breathing, and going to the bathroom. In fact it sometimes feels most like the latter, in the sense that you're letting something out that has been inside for too long. But anyways, I am honored that you found your way here, that you've listened, and taken some kind of interest. Thank you.
